Good morning everyone :hello:
Just popping on to say Hi, I'm not hanging around as I am not feeling very well and I need to get washed and dressed before the nurses come to do a doppler scan on my legs. I need new stockings as my legs have shrunk a bit so that is good.ScarletRibbons wrote: »I also want to look on internet for some card making dies, I received a die cutter for Christmas, and I have a few dies but would like more.
Try looking on Ebay for second hand ones. I have bought loads from there and also all the accessories you might need. Which machine have you got if you don't mind me asking? I have a Sizzix BigShot that I use the most and it has given me hours and hours of fun making cards.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -

Brrr that winds chilly, never mind -pooch walked and I don't need to go out again,DS picking DGS up as it's near where they are working. My cousin is visiting this afternoon to collaborate on the family tree:) so I'll need a bit of a tidy.I've got some stewing steak out to make a casserole so that won't need much attention once it's prepped.
Yesterday I went out for the bus and waited & waited, he must have gone early, and there's only 1 an hour so I decided to walk to where I can get a different one and call at the P.O. to send a parcel to a lady who is co-ordinating our hand made items for Aussie wildlife. It started sleeting when I was walking and I got very damp. The other bus is meant to be every 10 mins but I must have stood there nearly 25 minsI felt like I didnt get warm all day after that!
SRibbons, I love die cutting too,I've had a few from The works if you have one near you, they tend to be the smaller ones.
Gers, the remedial work sounds a pain in the neck
Snoozer sounds like you're loving being a GrandmaMolly41 nice to see you, your post came from the heart.
Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all.
It's pretty cold here, well I think so. I don't seem to be handling the colder weather very well this year
Today we are having a day off from the DIY -ing and we will go up to town this morning. I want to call in Wil*os for some bits and bobs then into Tes*o for a top up of bread and milk etc.
I phoned dad last night for a check in and we invited him for tea today. He's unsure whether he will come over and he will ring if not. It doesn't matter either way as we will be having lasagne and chips anyway, so I only have to do extra chips for him.
Scarlett you set me thinking about the death of our village shops. It used to be bustling and everybody knew everyone ( and their business :rotfl:.) There was 2 banks, 3 butchers, 3 greengrocers, 2 bakeries, a post office, haberdashers, hardware store, shoe shop, jewellers and the list goes on. How all those businesses made any profit is baffling, the village wasn't that big. Now we have a co-op, a pharmacy, 4 hairdressers, a cs, a takeaway and a few odd shops which change hands almost monthly. Sorry that turned into a wander down memory lane.
Right I'd better get myself ready for town......... oh how I miss "Top" and "Bottom " Fowlers, a shop that used to be the linchpin of town. Oh I must stop reminiscing, things must be better now, mustn't they ?
Hope everyone has a good day whatever they are doing. Hugs to anyone who is in need, for whatever reason.
Take care all

Up and at 'em this morning, cleaner is due, so bed stripped and linen in the washer.
Bright bit Brrrrr just 3c this morning.
Have had to do some moving cash around, no way do I want to go into my overdraft regardless, even if its only for half an hour. I think the banks should be stopped from implements these awful charges. We are lucky, I have cash in accounts I can switch, a lot of people do not.
Electric inspection this afternoon. I am praying they do not want to rewire here, its going to cause chaos, there are book cases that will have to be empties and moved and I will have to take my sewing room to bits.........the thought of it makes me want to go to sleep and wake up when its all done. It means trunking all over the walls and sockets blanked off ugghhhh.
OH has lost his top plate for 3 days whilst they reline it, so its baby food. I have a tin of minced beef going to make it into a shepherds pie and make sure the veg is well cooked so he can mash it all together. Need to put my thinking cap on for tomorrow night, he gets it back on Friday.0 -
Morning all! Good night's sleep last night after a day of organising and what's the word? Oh yeah...rationalising....The bin went out full, my bootful went to the euphemistically called recycle centre , the surveyor is booked and the charity are coming to collect some furniture on friday. I saw one of my ex neighbours, it's his birthday so we're going out for a drink this week.
Sister spent all day cleaning the tops of cupboards in her kitchen and the associated ceramics that came with that...
Today I'm going to the town to pay the surveyor and later on will be emptying all the wine I found under the stairs in the hopes that someone can use the bottles....It's not homemade, they used to buy a demijana of wine every year (think one of the massive meter sized glass bottles in a basket) and my father would then bottle it up. This must have been there for about fifteen years....
I also found six umbrellas and four brushes and am dreading going deeper in.....
Hope it's sorted quickly Gers! Good boy Spekynanny, ours went to all charity shops but we still have an indoor market that's quite good.
I don't think it's just you with the cold either, it IS cold

Back from physio and laptop place. Swerved the building society for today as I decided that the cheque wouldn't reach the Factor before they bank on a Friday so I may as well wait until Monday.
Physio was rigorous :eek there's a slight strength problem with one of my hamstrings and my glutes so she had me doing lots of exercises and then got me strapped into the gravity treadmill, that was 'interesting' to say the least.
The dry rot remedial work has been a long time coming. It's affected four flats out of the eight in the tenement. It'll be a complete hassle to clear out the big front room before the contractors start and the upheaval will be awful, however it needs done so I'll just have to crack on. Friends have offered to help so I'll be taking them up on that!
Right, off to set up the new machine. Good to hear from everyone, thanks for sharing your days.0 -
Morning all. Lovely day here but chilly. I have been doing chores this morning and preparing to give Dgs a cooked lunch. DH is picking him up frm achool as he is going to Bristol Eye Hospital to get his pressures done. He has not had eye drops for a fortnight so if they are good he can stop taking them. Whoops just seen the time so need to put the veg on.
Have a good day

Hi everyone just been having a catch up before bed.
Little grand daughter had a scan of her stomach on Monday but it didn't show anything. Now she needs an MRI scan and an endoscopy. They were kept in as waiting to get them done, then at lunch time today the doctor decided there would be no available slots this week so DD was told they could come home. They'll get an appointment to go in soon - hopefully - for an overnight stay. Little one is really just in the same position as she was when she went in more than 3 weeks ago - being fed into her bowel.
DD dropped her off with me for a few hours when they got back - we had a lovely play and lots of cuddles.0
