I’ve been looking at buying a number of these: half for my sister, half for me. We both have a BT Home Hub. She has Google smart speaker, I have Alexa
Reading speck on Amazon there seemed to be a suggestion that setting some smart plugs up with BT Home Hub could be tricky. Anyone suggest smart plugs which will be simple to install
Any advice rr plugs welcome and as always 👍 for the advice

TP link worked for me on Google home0

I'll second TPLink Kasa plugs... They aren't the cheapest but they are a doddle to use.
That said I have a couple of cheap ones from ebay, about a fiver each and they work fine with Google. They claim to work with Alexa also.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I have TP Link and Sonoff plugs/switches and all work faultlessly with a BT Home Hub 5 and Alexa speakers.0

I also have a KASA smart plug and also Tuyasmart smart bulbs which work with BT Home Hub & Alexa.
Every now and again (once every fortnight maybe) I get a "fails to respond" message but it sorts itself out.0 -
Same here KASA and Alexa, no issues except the plugs startup faster than the router if you lose power.
Power the plugs off and power them back on and they are all fine. Seems they need to add a delay before they search for the internet when powering on.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If you want a cheaper option for about £7 each I have a few of these which work fine with Alexa and say they also work with google

Thanks for the advice. TP Link seems to be a popular choice with two offerings that seem interesting
THE Kasa Smart Plug @ £19.62 and the less expensive one the
THE TP-Link Smart Plug WiFi Outlet @ £9.99t
However I’m wondering what I’m getting for the extra. Buyin 4 means an extra £40 not to be sniffed at especially as neither of us plan going down the Smart Home road0 -
The newer (cheaper) TP-Link smart plugs don't work with the Kasa app, which could be why you are seeing two price points.0
