If you can apply for a balance transfer card then move it over, if you cant then you need take control of the debt and reduce it.0

OP - AS you have a Cap1 card I am assuming you are new to credit or have some adverse credit history. You have had the card for years so you may be in a position to get a more mainstream card and balance transfer over.
If your credit history is a bit shaky still you could look at the Aqua Advance card, whilst it may be higher than mainstream cards to start with it the APR will reduce over 3 years if you pay on time and stay within your limit.0 -

Thats why they lowered it, a 0 balance is not good business for them. Run it up, start paying the minimum payments and then ask them to lower it, see what they say then.
Once they have you stuck on a minimum payment plan then there is no incentive to help you, it's how they make their billions.0
