Help! - One shared car, protecting 2 NCB

Hi
I’m new to the forum so apologies if this has been answered already but I really need some help on car insurance and protecting (or not) the NCB for both myself and my husband that we have both built up.
Very briefly we had 2 cars and my husband uses a company car for business only. We weren’t using one of the cars so we sold one. The car we have is registered in my husbands name and I am the main driver. I read somewhere that in order to keep our no claims bonus we would need to alternate the insurance each year between both of us to make sure that we kept the NCB although I’ve now been told it can be 2 years.
My issue is the insurance has been in my name for the past year and in that year my husband got 3 points and a fine for speeding which has obviously increased the insurance. If we keep it my name then the insurance is £500 but if put it in his name it’s £550. Which should I do? Does anyone know if it’s even worth keeping the No claims going for one of us or whether we just keep the insurance in my name and lose my husbands no claims. We may well get a second car in the future and would I be able to have 2 insurance policies for 2 cars?
Any help / advice is much appreciated.
Thanks

When I opted out of having a company car, My wife's insurer did me a good deal, equivalent to full NCB.
I had a letter from my employer, saying no claims with them, but didn't need it.0 -
