rees94 - could you start your own thread because your history is different to the original OP's and it gets confusing reading your question on their thread. When you repost could you you please add in when you started claiming UC.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

I am going to go citizens advice tomorrow and just find out where I stand and then I am going to contact universal credit. It’s just so confusing and UC are so unwilling to help.
It is unfortunately only UC who can resolve this for you.

I would suggest you take a screen-print of the UC payments schedules (as UC retrospectively change entries), and check your bank account to see if an interim back payment has been made. Get a log of UC payments into your bank account.

Most importantly go back to UC to ask for a breakdown.
If this isn't supplied, then make a complaint. If the complaint doesn't give you the information, get your MP involved.
The one thing Citizens Advice may help you to do, would be to draft a mandatory reconsideration to send to UC re the decision to pay you only the £700 odd pounds, as you think this decision is wrong.

UC communications, explanations, and response to questions have got even worse. (Perhaps understandably given the progressive decrease in staff, and dramatic increase in claimants over the last year).
You just have to keep going back to them (using the various options listed above), until a sensible answer emerges from UC.
