Just found CCJ from CEL

Hi!
Hoping someone can help me here, it's the first time I've had to deal with something like this. I've read through some of the guidance on the forum home page and am trying to get my head round some of the acronyms and process. However, I thought I would post myself anyway to see if there is any specific advice anyone can give me.
I discovered today whilst exploring my credit file that i have a CCJ registered to a property I lived in until September 2015. The CCJ is from an unpaid parking fine issued by CEL in 2018, related to a violation in 2017. Presumably the address that the car was registered to was not updated by the time the parking violation occurred. In fact, I know that I wasn't driving the car as my ex-wife and I separated in 2016 and she kept the car before selling it sometime in late 2017 (therefore I had no access to the vehicle beyond Sept 2016). I am looking to apply for a mortgage in the not-to-distant future and therefore want this CCJ struck off my report ASAP. I called the court to get the information and they have emailed me the form I need to complete in order to have the CCJ set aside.
Any advice on what I need to do would be great. As I said, this is all very new to me, I haven't had pursue any kind of legal action before so I have no idea where to start (except by paying this £255 application fee and filling out the form).
TIA!

if you were unaware of any parking charges or the court claim forms , you pay the £255 and go for the set aside (assuming you want a contected set aside because you cannot get an agreed £100 set aside by consent ?)
the only way to clear your CCJ is to apply for the set aside (not paying it) and resetting your credit rating, which is what you want
the NEWBIES thread post #2 tellsl you all about it
post #5 tells you the acroyms
there are dozens of similar cases on here , so find those and read them too , you are not the first , not even in the first 1000
I assume that you were the RK seeing as the CCJ is in YOUR NAME ?0 -
Before filling in the form, read the NEWBIE sticky post # 2 about set-asides. Search the forum using six-point draft order as your keyword(s) and read posts by Henrik777. That should get you up to speed.0

Hi Redx,
Thanks for the quick response. I've been reading through some of the similar case's and it seems that a lot of them hinge on CEL not being able to prove who was driving the car? In my case I can actually prove that I wasn't driving it, will this aid my case?
And in answer to you question, yes I was the RK up until the vehicle was sold in 2017.0 -

of course that is the case
they must prove their case, they failed POFA so as RK you have no liability , especially as a non driver , ergo you should win and its likely they will discontinue at the court stage for the original issues
get the set aside done
ps:- although its not CEL, read the advice and pointers in this thread
