As you probably realised, it was your question in the Top Bank Accounts thread that prompted me to ask about the subject.
Your situation is obviously a lot more complicated than mine. There's nothing there that's relevant to me. I've no need for any of that (and I don't envy you it!), but it's helpful to my understanding nonetheless.
I do agree about us being in the dark ages, though I wasn't aware of the international situation. Open Banking could become helpful, but it's got a long way to go yet. First Direct used to have an aggregation setup that was halfway decent, though it relied (I think) on screen scraping and was never developed, and eventually got withdrawn.0
