As the rolls went down well I'd suggest pulled pork made in the SC, it's super easy if you use a bottled sauce of your choice. Pork leg or shoulder works best. Buttered rolls, some salad and pickles there's not much prep or clearing up afterwards needed.0

Not slow cooker, but something like a cottage pie or other one pot meal that's prepared fully in advance and just goes in the oven to warm.0

These are fantastic ideas
Pulled pork sounds a great idea i think I will do a trial run of that
and why have I never thought of doing a cottage pie in advance? I really am ditzyWith love, POSR0 -
I would recommend cottage pie too. I usually prepare all the veg to go with it in advance too, so that all that has to be done is to microwave/boil it/heat it through.
Or, if you have a big enough pot, a Lancashire hot pot, although I appreciate that lamb isn't the cheapest meat. I would oven cook it rather than slow cook it, but it will happily cook away on on a med to low oven for a couple of hours.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

Spag bol, the sauce can be ready prepped, spaghetti takes about 12 minutes. I put it in a big pot with hot water, bring it to the boil, turn off the heat and leave for 12 minutes, drain and pour into the hot sauce and turn it over, in a big bowl so the spaghetti get coated with the sauce and serve with garlic bread. Use a spoon to serve any sauce thats left in the bowl.0

My goto get together meal is cooked together in the oven. Baked potatoes, chicken thighs, courgettes, pepper and onion/shallots. When it’s all done, stick it serving dishes and let them help themselves. While they are noshing, put a fruit crumble into to cook (I make the crumble mix and stew the fruit beforehand so it just needs chucking together). Or even easier, give them some fruit and yogurt or cream.0

Chilli with garlic bread.
You can make the chilli in the slow cooker.
It's very easy to make your own using french sticks. You can even prepare in advance and freeze.
I used to do this for a twixt Christmas and New Year family get-together.
I also used to buy some frozen roast potatoes.
Quite filling and very little faffing on the day.0 -
I think these all excellent ideas, going to add my own of a gammon joint cooked in Coke (needs the sugary one!)
This is hugely popular at our get-togethers as folk rarely do one for themselves.
Jacket potatoes, nice bread, big HM coleslaw (can be done in advance, dress with oil & lemon, folk add mayo as they wish) I like red cabbage this time of year. You can also do a big tray of roast veg.
And every scrap of the gammon gets used up.0
