    Basic accounts can be switched, as they are current accounts, just ones that are slightly more restricted than others....

    If the old account is a basic bank account then there is no concern. Basic bank accounts don't have an overdraft facility so it's not possible to incur any charges that way, and they don't charge for failed standing orders (or direct debits) either. The standing orders simply won't be paid
