Sorry Started a new thread incase folks were sick of reading the other one.
I'm using IE now and the page loading thing is normal here i.e stops searching when the page is loaded so maybe it's my firefox connection gone mad but I still have a small page.
Thought somebody who may be having problems would like to know problem sorted at last managed to install update properly.

I'm a bit stumped, but I think the memory stick thing is a bit of a red herring. I can't see how it would affect your browser, not without introducing a virus or something, and I think you ruled that out.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Yes I think somehow it's to do with that ff update, I'll stay on IE today and hope that after a rest it'll right itself
I know it's wishful thinking.
I wonder if I went back to an older version of firefox it would be ok.
