- SIMM 72-pin (usually EDO RAM) 1 key notch.
- DIMM 168-pin (SDRAM) 2 key notch.
- DIMM 184-pin (DDR SDRAM) 1 key notch.
- DIMM 240-pin (DDR2 SDRAM/DDR3 SDRAM) 1 key notch.
SIMM = single inline memory module.
DIMM = dual inline memory module.
SDRAM = synchronos dynamic random access memory.
DDR = double data rate. (DDR1).
DDR2 = twice the speed of DDR1.Get some gorm.0 -
I know it's complicated, but the sticker on the memory says pc133 256mb:rolleyes: , so it will fit any pc that needs sdram 100 or 133There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0

Also bud I would advise not to be so complacent with RAM too, it is quite sensitive to static but doesn't 'blow' to a point where it will stop working, just enough that you will get occasional system errors that you put down to a software glitch or other.0

A note of caution, I have an ancient 2nd PC.I know it's complicated, but the sticker on the memory says pc133 256mb:rolleyes: , so it will fit any pc that needs sdram 100 or 133
According to the crucial site it can have a max of 2x256mb RAM.
However I put in 2 x 256 and Win98 (really) would not boot, it just went in a loop.
The problem was one stick had RAM on both sides the other just on one side, the old motherboard only read one side of each slot and doubled it automatically.
So it read it as 2x128 and 2x 256 total =768 i.e. too much.
This was proven by carefully watching the screen during POST.
However my usual, approx 5yo PC just registers whatever is in the slot.Move along, nothing to see.0
