Bank account closure - RBS

Branch manager did phone the number I was given but was unable to get any information from them at all. Manager was in agreement that I should’ve received the letter first prior to account closing. Again, there was no reason for the closure apart from commercial reasons - basically they decided they didn’t want my custom anymore as I wasn’t a money maker for them. This is no excuse for the bank to withhold my funds and not give me a timescale of when I can access it.
I had my account suspended 2 years ago for a few days due to an investigation which resulted in nothing found and account reinstated. It was a random check. During the suspension I was able to withdraw from the branch no problems. Complete opposite to this situation.0 -
I had the same problem during lockdown and this is where the Ulster bank I am just waiting On the phone and it's been three hours they did the same to me just close my account and stole as far as I'm concerned £5000 out of it as I cannot access it and it was the money I had from the government grant so not very happy as I run a business and we are suffering because of this of the stupidity of Ulster bank And it has gone 60 days and not heard a dickie bird from them they are absolutely pathetic and I thought they were a good bank0

RBS closed my account after 9 years of being a customer, which was my main current account with all payments going in and DD's going out, plus they closed my savings account and Child&Co account. Then a few months later closed my NatWest account, which I only found out they had closed my NatWest later after checking my credit files, no letter to say so. I'll never do banking with the RBS Group again.

I have held multiple accounts at RBS and never had any issues. It is always best to have at least one other current account.
Banks do not care about you, you are nothing to them, as such if they close your account just say bye and go elsewhere. As long as they give the money back if it is rightfully yours. I never trust banks, I always have eggs in different baskets. It all stems from one incident in Santander where I was basically told "you can't touch the money" because they decided I should not have my money. Never again.1
