There are advocacy groups for tenants - just that they won’t be able to help you much in this situation, and for some reason damp isn’t a major policy battleground at the moment. Probably because many cases of condensation damp are the fault of the tenant, despite what I said above about terrible house design. It’s worth a letter to your MP perhaps, to explain the situation when house design is at fault.
Dehumidifier is a good idea.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. We haven’t had much follow-up on damp cases in arbitration in the past.0 -
Do you have a report from the EHO? Have they explained why there is condensation/mould? That would be most helpful. Maybe even ask them now if they haven't.
You may well be able to explain this yourself in the event that there is a dispute over the deposit. Pop back here at the time if you would like some help with wording it.
I suggest you take photos of the heating source in each room, the windows and extractors in each room, the ambient temperature in there etc.
Any evidence of the reasons why mould is inevitable.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Ah getting the report from the EHO is a great idea. They visited the property in Dec but are visiting again at our request, so I'll be sure to get it from them then.
Yeah, we have a dehumidifier but it doesn't really help in the bathroom because there are no outlets inside or in the hall outside-- it's seriously just lots of bad design!!
Thanks guys, we'll keep you updated after the EHO inspection-- fingers crossed!0 -
