NSD today, keeping busy at homeNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1305 -
Had a non-grocery spend to get Road Tax for the car - so this is reflected in savings pot - £30
Had 2 smaller spends - one on bread for the week, some salmon spread (lunch for 2 x 2 per pot on good wholemeal toast) and a punnet of cherry toms - which I add to lots of things - I make them go a long way!
Went to T*s*o for some own-label kitchen roll/loo roll (I know I can buy cheaper elsewhere but it gets used twice as fast). Also bananas (get them in batches so they are fresh).
They'd just started with the reductions so I got a HUGE tray-size cottage pie £6 down to £4 which I cut up into 4 hearty portions. I added steamed carrot, celery and broccoli bits to the base of my container (I bulk buy the foil takeaway dishes) and put a serving of pie on top. One for lunch, 3 for the freezer.
They've also repackaged some of their veggie offerings and were selling the old-style packs on clearance so I hoovered up a few of them too. I've been trying their Hearty Food Co range - mainly for the carnivore - as the veggie offering is a bit death by cheese. The frozen stuff is usually 75p per product and so far - no duds. Anyone else tried them?
Both shops combined to a total of £38.00 - I don't need to shop for anything for at least a week now - freezer and cupboards all stocked up.2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

Needed a few bits for lunch today
€293.58 left
€43.01 spent
This is over the last few days as I buy different things in different places. My challenge to only buy reduced or on offer meat/fish was a success. My husband bought us a tray of chicken and minced beef but apart from that everything else was either on offer or reduced so I’m going to carry this on for February. Today I got a packet of sausages and a whole chicken (a rare find) at 30% off.
€250.57 left:money::rotfl::T5 -
£92.28 / £450 so far this month. Stocked up on various things that had run out including non food such as toothpaste, bleach etc. Will need to shop again at weekend for Sunday lunch - meat, veg, potatoes and then a few bits for lunches next week - bread, ham, fruit. Already got the crisps and biscuits in!
February feels like it's flying away already.

Hi all, oddly I've just received the last 2 posts as an email, when I've not signed up for email notifications. Guessing it's the new forum, so will have to check the settings.
I've had another delivery since I last updated, spent £38.94 bring the total up to £126.10/£370. Feeling hopeful that I'll be able to stay in budget.
How much mince do people generally use for a meal for 4/5? I've got a 750g pack and I'm hoping to make it stretch to a lasagne, a cottage pie and enchiladas. I would usually add onions, grated courgette, sometimes grated carrot, mushrooms and peppers to it for lasagne etc and onions, carrots, swede and peas for the cottage pie. I've got some dried lentils I could add to bulk more but don't want the hubby or kids to notice!
