I changed my Broadband from NTL to TT some weeks ago. (I have BT and NTL phone lines) I am very unhappy with TT being sooooo slooooow! It is slowere than dialup imo. I contacted TT and they insist that I provide them with speed tests over a period.
I have done 7 tests so far and the results are as follows;
average 3504 and 174 kbps Can anyone please advise me if those figures are good or bad or average?
Thanks

depends which package you signed up for and how far you live from the exchange?
most BB on a bt line will not be as fast as NTl on cable.Get some gorm.0 -
those speeds aren't bad but which speedchecking site are you using - if it's their own they may be prioritising the traffic (if they're smart) to try reduce complaints.0

I'm using the site I was instructed to by TT,
www.speedtest.net
Latest reading is 1304 and 1650 -
hmm that should be fairly accurate - what's the ping time like to that site? (says just as starting the test)0

I'm with TT as well and get a reading of 1933 and 114. As my exchange is 2Mbps max I think this is a good reading. I think the 8Mbps only applies if the exchange is pretty well next door.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0
