First off it is a B2B trans action but that aside.

It turned out the IMIE was lost or stolen so they don't cover it. You need to update you Ebay listing that gives you the right to not refund for this scenario, although most will still win anyway.

Most will also be IMIE blacklisted as it's easy for a genuine Iphone user to unlock their own phone when forgetting their pin.
  • Thanks for the help, it seems as though the T&Cs dont actually get presented during checkout, so im going to see if that will get me anywhere, although i highly doubt it. If not i will try to claim back from credit card.

In regards to the ebay buyer, should I try and offer a partial refund for the fact the iphone is lost or stolen, or just refund the full amount and take the loss? Thanks

    Hi Josh
These unlock services are always going to be very dodgy.and I suspect most of the people using them are dodgy and the phones are dodgy
You have to ask yourself why did the vendor not get the phone unlocked by the network
It is a really bad business model to resell anything if you have not got first class suppliers who operate with integrity
You do not know if the unlock company are being truthful in saying the handset was stolen.
You will need to refund all the money as you promised to unlock and you did not do so.

Having said this I purchased what claimed to be a locked phone from ebay ( very cheap !)
It turned out to be locked to O2 who unlocked in less than 1 hour
I was out of pocket by a whole pound as i needed to buy an O2 sim card from the local shop
  • Thankyou, I copy and pasted what you said about the T&Cs and added some more on and just recieved an email saying it will be refunded within 10 working days.

Thanks for all your help buddy

What they are offering is not possible by anyone except Apple
(IMEI flashing of course - but that is illegal)

    You have been scammed

And I suspect they will keep on requesting more money until you twig
