  • At the Drs this morning, I had to leave early, even though it was 10am before I got home. Dr has taken me off the osteo medication and swapped to something else. If that is no better she will refer me for the injections. I also came away with antib's for the infection and now have to take a maintenance dose each night for 3 months then she will change it.

The sun is out but not much heat in it, washing in the dryer........

OH off to his social meeting this afternoon, I have to go into the bank and also collect my engagement ring which has been altered.

I am very hissed off with the bank, they still have my old phone number on my account, we have been here 5 years and I know I have transferred money before, but when I clicked to sanction the transaction it wanted to phone me on the old number....aarrgghhhh.......I am actively looking to change banks.

Supper tonight will be egg and chips, possibly beans as well.

Morning all! Bed late, up late today...Must try harder...Might be easier in Wales, we'll see. Have to stop at a shop today on the way back to see if theyhave the crackers my sister likes. Cat is desperate to play but I am so fuzyy it's a bit difficult to get my co-ordination going.
Yesterday I did everything on the list and one more last night, the understairs cupboard is now neatly arranged and a few things have gone to the bin and a few things have gone to be given away. I left some stuff at the very very back because I wasn't going to be using it or getting rid of any of it for a while so it just stays there for now, basically a couple of old wooden tool boxes and a bag of throws I made.
Did some more research on buildings, e-mailed the architect again....Maybe they'll reply if I keep badgering them....:)

Gers, hope today goes tolerably. TA, hope nothing untowrd happens today...Speky, rest the ankle! Nanny, enjoy the prepping [ yuk!] thats the bit I really don't like, I'm far too impatient...Hey all reading along, Make and Mend Monday!

  • Morning all (just) and thanks for the thread nmlc.

I didn't have much of interest to say over the weekend and was quite busy doing jobs that I failed to get to in the week. Today OH and A DS are out so I've been hoovering and stuff, boringly necessary..

On Friday, I went out to lunch in a pub with friends, we had delicious fish and chips, unusually we chose the same food. And we were given quite a goid discount though I am not sure why. My OH said it must be my ancientness so now he has a black eye (not really)

Gers I hope things are a bit better today.

TA hope this morning has not been too painful.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Hello everyone,
Quite a bright day for a change :j My brother has just left, not seen him for a couple of weeks so it was good to catch up. He does call to see if I'm in when he's around this area. The main topic was our nieces wedding ( other DBs daughter) which is abroad next year. She isnt putting anyone under any pressure to go but it would be nice. Our main problem would be the hound- she's never been in kennels and she's very nervous with people she doesn't know. Anyway it's a long time off yet so we can have a think.
Curry for tea tonight, or leftover roast for DS if preferred.
Uh oh spoke too soon ,it's drizzling.I wasn't going out anyway, I've got an afternoon's sewing planned, more blankets and little wraps for the animal charity group I'm in, I'd better stop dithering and get on with my lunch then I can go upstairs and sew.
Hope the funeral goes ok TA- very sad for the boys.
Gers hope you are having a better time- hugs
Snoozer- hope Esben is settling into his crib now.
Csarina, good luck with the new meds

Hugs to all poorlies and under the weather peeps, bye for now x

    Afternoon everyone.

It's very sunny though it comes with a biting wind. I dug out a very old and very warm jacket which I gave to DM in my very fat days, now it fits me so I was toasty for my shopping trip. Didn't buy much but sat reading the paper over a cup of coffee.

Thanks for the love, hugs and good wishes. Things have been very tense here. DM is very controlling, always has been, and sometimes she just goes too far. Of course when I react against it I'm being 'hyper-sensitive' She'll do anything to avoid saying sorry, can't remember her ever saying it. Anyway, I am feeling better although she's now retreating into not feeling well. It's a merry-go-round of emotions.

I've sorted out a problem with British Gas - for some reason they had my DM's address down as mine for her electric account and her own for the gas one. I have no idea why they had my address listed. Anyway...after being 'promised' a 25 minute wait on the telephone I used the chat facility even though I hate it. Upshot is that it's been fixed.

Then I had a problem with Optical Express, despite being a client of theirs for over 20 years and having received two reminder letters today, they couldn't find me on their system. Used my name, date of birth and then postcode, the agent couldn't find me. Then someone else took over, asked the same questions to find me and then said that it was my fault as I told the first person that my surname was my forename.... hate it when they make a mistake and try to blame me.

It's been a few days of me feeling got at or having a go at others! Not going to mention the very rude volunteer in the charity shop, my response to her was to pack up the 20 books I had brought and take them to another CS :rotfl: Perhaps it's the phase of the moon?

Anyway, all is calm. I've got a Graham Norton book to read, not sure I'll finish it as I've better ones waiting.

    Happy rest of Monday.
  • Gers, glad to see you posting. Have a big hug, I know just where you are coming from, my mother and grandmother were just the same. I try so hard not to be...........I do not remember either of them saying sorry, or I was wrong to the day they died.........It drove me nuts.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now, keep the chin up, you have done so well looking after your mother.
