UK Smart Locks

I’m looking to get a smart lock for my home, however the entire market seems suited to US style locks, and the few that are multipoint lock comparable still require you to lift the handle so it removes the ability to lock the door from upstairs or outside.

Is there a way to overcome this? Is there a lock on the market that can lift the handle?

Yale do the connexis smart lock but it is really bad. The tech is not mature enough yet and being an early adopter isn’t wise (imo).

Generally, there are two independent parts
    lock itself
multipoint locking mechanism in the door and the frame.

Usually a "smart lock" is the former and battery-operated. It's not powerful enough to move the multipoint locking mechanism, for what lifting the handle manually is needed.

On my recent stay in Spain the property was using these:

You open the door via a special web link (that no doubt invalidates as soon as your stay ends)

The locks looked like a neat retrofit onto the antique doors of a period property. The whole block was using this system for hallway and apartment door. A battery powered unit is mounted on the inside where the key would be. I assume it all works by internet or SMS as no cabling to see.

There are extra smarts like auto relocking when the door swings shut and an ajar alarm.

Funny how countries we are told are in dire straits economically have things like this that we don't in the UK.

I don't think this one is multipoint compartible.
And at the first look I don't see much difference from what is available in UK, e.g.

    - not compatible with multipoint lock
