Been to our local furniture retailer (independant) and we are looking at either a G Plan washington or a La-z-boy winchester - I can only find reviews via the big chains and they are mainly complaints about the retailer so any comments or pointers gratefully received.
Then we need to choose fabric or leather, we have a cat and dog so a little unsure which is best

We've had our G-Plan Washington for about 2½ years & it's been fine. A bit of trouble with the recliner at first but they sent a man round & sorted it out.
I can't stand leather!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Will the cat attempt to use it as a scratching post?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

the cat hasnt used the current sofa as a scratching post but he does sleep on it as does the dog, the dog tends to come in wet or covered in sand so the sofa needs to be easy to clean0

Sold our 15 year old G plan sofa and chairs 12 years ago and they were still in very good condition but we did use throws on the seats and covers on the arms. Went to leather but 2 years ago wanted a change back to fabric. So went back to G plan. No longer have pets and children at home so no longer have throws on them but did purchase matching arm covers which were a bit expensive but will keep the arms clean. Unlike many other sofas, G plan one do not have arms that can be removed for easy access through doors but would not hesitate to recommend G Plan.0
