Buildings insurance.

We have found hailstone damage to our coservatory roof ii
Holes in it after a heavy hailstorm.
Is this claimable on buildings insurance normally or it it the old 'act of god' scenario
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    Yes it should be covered under storm or accidental damage, if you've got that cover.

    There is no Act of God scenario. No home insurance policy sold in the UK has an act of good exclusion. Its simply a question of whether or not the event meets the definition of one of the insured perils (fire, flood, storm damage, subsidence etc etc).

    If the hail was unusually heavy it would be covered as storm damage, even if it wasn't accompanied by particularly strong winds. And obviously if it caused significant damage to a well maintained roof it must have been pretty heavy. So it sounds like it should be covered, assuming the roof was in good condition beforehand.
