Right to buy and a buy to let?

Hi All,

New to this forum but I was wondering if you would be able to give me any advice on the below..

I am coming up to the last year of my Right To Buy property (5years) and was wondering if anybody has experience with this as well as getting another mortgage for another property to do a Buy to let when this one finishes?

Thanks in advance

    what is your actual question?

you own a property, you now want to let it and in doing so you want to get a mortgage on it?
  • No, when my Right To Buy finishes, would I be able to get a mortgage on top to do a Buy To Let too? I don't understand how it works and if it is possible. I am curious to see if anyone else has already done this and what the process would be. Thanks

Lending is now based on affordability, Engage a broker to look at your options, morality aside of RTB

So you will be keeping your RTB home as your home and looking for a BTL mortgage to buy a second property as a rental?

    Or

Moving out of the RTB property, remortgaging it as a BTL mortgage and living somewhere else?

Speak with a good independent whole of market mortgage broker.

  • First option is correct. Thank you for your help
