I have been avidly reading some of the diaries and inspired by the stories.

Good luck and well done for tackling it all. I noticed you mentioned that you keep to finances separate from your husband, do you know if he has any debts himself? Also with your mortgage are you in a fixed rate or variable as just wondered what impact the dmp would have if you needed to remortgage.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

We only have 11 years left on mortgage so reckon we will just keep on variable rate. I have read back and seen that most people recommend speaking to their partner and coming clean. I think that due to my husbands fragile mental health that this would do more harm than good. It would selfishly make me feel better but just drive his anxiety.
I have no idea about his financial situation but I know he doesnt use credit cards. I think he may have a loan or two.
I feel so guilty for getting myself into this situation but at last I think I see a way outDMP Feb 20 21357

Tully say they have received no responses as yet which is a little disappointing. I wonder if it is worth me also writing with my reference as none of my accounts 3vrn appear to be on holdxspart from Halif*x who I wrote to myself. Charges being racked up all over the place.DMP Feb 20 21357

Today brought the first progress. Halif*x have accepted the payment offered and transferred to Recoveries. They state that the loan will accrue no further charges or interest. As my second biggest debt, I am happy with that.
I fear Next and Very will be the most troublesome from what I have read
I am currently lying in bed in recovery from my operation and this letter has given me the first glimmer of hope in a long timeDMP Feb 20 21357

I contacted Hitachi as they added on a 25 charge for a letter. I quoted my Tully reference and explained I was entering into a DMP and they have refunded the charge.
Very on the other hand have sent 3 letters at 12 each over the last 3 days. I cant even challenge them as they dont answer their on line messaging and I am stuck in bed for 2 weeks.DMP Feb 20 21357

I should have had my light bulb moment months ago but I had no idea that there was a way out. I had to sell all my wedding jewellery a while ago to pay my half of the grocery budget. I have no idea how I will ever explain that one away but luckily DH is very unobservant.
I waver between relief and fear of a knock on the door at present. I would feel a little less anxious if I heard from more of my creditors but appreciate this is a long slow process.
I have also just rejigged my budget and if I sacrifice my EF for a few months then I can pay off my BNPL items with Very and save over 290 pounds in interestDMP Feb 20 21357

Selling your wedding jewellry is absolutely heart breaking. I'm so sorry you had to resort to that.
You sound like you are a strong path now though. I wish you the best of luck.debt consolidated 16/8/18 £9,788.01/£12,618.12(Total debt at LBM 1st Jan '18 c..£19.5k)
