How often do you see your family?

My and OH parents and my siblings both live over 300 miles away (luckily in a similar direction!). We mainly visit on bank/public holiday weekends when we can stay a few days as it doesn't feel worth the long drive otherwise. We do speak on the phone in between times though. As we're the "satellite" and everyone else lives close to each other, it's usually expected that we'll be the ones to do the travelling - which does feel a bit of a pain sometimes but it makes sense, and I do love to see them.

If they lived closer, or we didn't work full time I'd probably visit more often, but such is life.

Once in 3-4 months. I miss them a lot

My eldest lives about 70 miles away but comes up to London about once a month and generally stays over either one or two nights, catching up with old friends at the same time. I go down to see them only twice a year - summer and birthday time which is close to Christmas. My youngest, who lives about a mile away, does my nails on a Saturday morning every 2 or 3 weeks. In the meantime, they both call me weekly, but more often if there's something interesting to discuss.
