One good thing about the pandemic is how many people now want to move away from the cities.

lots of big companies are asking people to work from home and this trend will likely continue after the crisis is over.

property prices in cities will fall a long way even further now

    good for lower London prices

    every cloud and all
So move from London and buy a house on a flood plain. Good idea.
    London is a flood plain.
Does it actually flood or did the London centric Government build something to stop it flooding?
Why do you think that the Thames barrier was built.

My local Supermarket has plenty of toilet rolls in stock. At the time of my visit (I didn’t buy any) I was the only customer in the toilet roll area.
The problem is that a high percentage of toilet roll production relied on China which has been shut down for months now with no end in sight for the shut down.

it starts with toilet rolls which are not vital but when it gets to medical shortages which are more vital we will start to see real problems

then the financial collapse will be the least of our worries

this is an amazing gift to be able to buy silver so cheap compared to gold.
So now that your claim of silver being at a historically low price has been proven to be fake news, you have changed your story to silver is currently cheap compared to gold! Seriously you are embarrassing yourself. :D
Perhaps you can explain why anyone other than a silver/gold ramper would care what the relative prices of those two metals are?!?!
But gold is he most expensive compared to silver in all over recorded history
More fake news, gold compared to silver was more expensive than now in February 1991.

Indeed. One could argue that if people aren’t travelling or going out and spending more time at home that they’ll be keener for it to be a nicer place to stay and be more willing to spend a higher proportion of their money on it rather than a cruise (Petrie dish). I expect the medium term result to be higher prices. Those with a dry cellar or storage or shelter will be at a premium.
Very optimistic lisyloo. But your forgetting that the banks are all in deep doodoo

as people stop paying rents and mortgages the banks are going to collapse and so will the property market

this will be the least of the government’s worries as this pandemic becomes the worst crisis in living memories
It was somewhat tongue in cheek.
but as we’ve been saying all along, it won’t help most buy a house as we’ve consistently said that a serious crash would be accompanied by job losses and economic issues making it hard for most people to buy.

Toilet paper is produced in the UK. Bulky and uneconomic to ship long distances.

Absolutely agree that this crash will be accompanied by job losses and economic issues to match the Great Depression

It’s the paper pulp that only comes from China. Nobody else can provide it.

One container full can make millions of toilet rolls and there have been no shipments since last year with no end in sight for the China shutdown to be over
  • Can anybody answer what is China doing about all the people not going to work for so long? How are they paying rents and mortgages?

How long until the banks collapse due to everybody’s mortgages payments stopping?

Vitamin C and D will save us all. Make sure you are topping up on your vitamins each day.
There are going to be shortages soon

nearly all pills of any kind absolutely rely on critical elements from China which will not be produced again for over five years

vits and mineral are not so important but wait until shortages of vital medicines to see how serious this crisis is

A correct answer. Yes the London Centric Government built the Thames barrier with little or no opposition to the cost.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
