Anyone else noticed a change of emphasis in the advertising by the Government on commercial radio of having a "Smart Meter". It has moved from a "Smart Meter" can save you money, to helping the country rebuild our outdated energy network.

Obviously starting to condition customers to accept time of day tariffs, load shedding, forcing to change tariff, remote disconnections and other ways to control our useage.

The ASA banned adverts last March that suggest smart meters could save consumers energy (and hence money)

"Smart Metering Communications Body Ltd t/a Smart Energy GB [were told] that if making energy savings claims for smart meters they should make sufficiently clear that these depended on users monitoring their energy and making changes."
