Pip passport to other help

Options
Hi all

I called pip today and I have been awarded enhanced rate for daily living and standard for mobility. I don’t drive but I am a passenger often in my boyfriends car.

I was wondering now I have this award what else I could get help with. I tried looking at working tax credits but they are not taking new claims now bummer.

Also am I able to put this money aside to another account to save up so I’m not tempted to spend it when not needed. Like i can just manage on my wages at moment and I will only have this pip until 2022 I don’t want to become reliant on it just in case I lose it. Would I be able to use said money to put towards a house deposit I have saved a bit up already but having this will allow me to buy a home sooner. It would also allow me to make modifications to help me with my disability that o can’t do in a tennant status. Sorry i don’t want to upset anyone with this reasoning.

Thank you.

You can spend your PIP money on balloons if you want. Entirely up to you!

If your mobility award is for 8 points for moving around you can apply for a Blue Badge if you haven’t got one already. Then if you are transported by somebody else they can park in a disabled parking bay to make it easier for you to get from the car to your destination.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Standard mobility will entitle you to 50% reduction in your road tax but because you don't drive then your boyfriend will only be able to use the car for your purposes. You don't need to be in the car all the time but if he works then he won't be able to use the car for this reason.

    He works.

Also my council it’s ten points on descriptor e . I got it for descriptor d that’s for automatic badge.

I would have to apply on the maybe sort of side and explain why it would help.

I’m deaf so it’s a hidden disability but I regularly have to be pulled to one side as I can’t hear the cars behind me.
