Notice of intention to commence legal proceedings

Hi sorry if this has already been answered but it’s a mine field finding anything on here.
Usually when The driver ignores parking charges, they go away but Zenith collections who are acting on behalf of Euro Car Parks are being quite persistent.
The driver over stayed by a few minutes, then had issues with the machine (the driver paid for both theirs and their friends ticket) and Is unsure it even registered both tickets as the drivers bank only shows one payment on their statement.
The driver hasn’t responded to any letters and has binned them all.
Today a Notice of intention to commence legal proceedings was received with the subtitle “without prejudice”.. goes on to say the driver has 14days to pay the reduced fee of £160..... if the payment is not received this matter will be passed to our legal department.
Should the driver continue to ignore these letters or is there a response letter which has been missed on the beginners forum?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Ignore. Zenith are part of DRPlus and they don't have a legal dept!
Read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread where that letter features.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
they are writing to the keeper , not the driver (2 different entities)
stay in keeper mode , disregard the debt collector letters from DRPL and ZENITH
ECP have 6 years to try a court claim , hence the persistence0 -

thousands of posts on here point to the fact that they do not
driver hasn’t responded to any letters and has binned them all.
Which is why you are being threatened with court. I take it from the above that you have not read the stickies. Please do so.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Whatever you do, do not, never bin any letters demanding money, they often contain flaws that you can use to your advantge should they issue court proceedings.
Also its not too late for a landowner complaint, why did the vehicle get a pakring charge notice, and where was it/whos car parkUsually when The driver ignores parking charges, they go away
They have upto 6 years to chase you.
Sometimes they go away, then return 5 years or more later, you may move/change address etc etc, and the next thing you know is that they have obtained a default judgement by taking the registered keeper to court, and the RK either ignoring or their details have changed
There is an example posted today on this forum here

You have already been contacted by Zenith who popped out of their sewer to say hello.
Do we assume the latest garbage is from Zenith as well.
I wonder what these idiots think is the real charge as they say it would be reduced to £160 ???
You really cannot be dealing with liars and money bandits. Zenith, just like DRP are full of verbal diarrhoea TO IGNORE
If you get a letter before claim from Euro or their dodgy legal, come back here. An LBC must give you 30 days to respond, not pay, just respond.
Something stupid debt collectors CANNOT DO
Debt Collectors (DRP & ZZPS .. ZENITH) What they don't want you to know

On your bike ZENITH, back to your sewer0
