Economy 7 to Standard meter

I am actually hoping to reduce my usage and costs. The majority of my electricity is used during the night to heat one large storage heater. Neighbours who have installed very expensive Fischer heaters have then had them removed because their electricity costs have increased so much. If I find a variable tariff with no exit fees and in the future find that I have indeed made the wrong decision, I can always go back to Economy 7 as the meters have not been removed.
Many thanks for your input.0 -

Your new 'ceramic clay core' heaters have exactly the same efficiency as the old NSH: 100%.No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -
I also have an E7 meter but a single rate electricity supply. I'm currently with Avro, but in the past have been with Affect/Octopus, Sainsburys and BG, all of whom accept meter readings from R1 (daytime) and R2 (nighttime) and combine them. I believe there are quite a few other suppliers who can do this, some time ago there was a thread about this specific topic.Years ago I tried to switch to Scottish Power and at the time their system could not do this - but they only found out when they tried to take over my electricity supply having already taken over the gas. took 6 months to sort out the mess and get everything back to my previous supplier (BG).0

Yes, the new heaters are ceramic core, but the usage I've reported is for the last year on storage heaters.0

Was considering getting similar ones and fitting the myself but storage is the way to go if all electric.
My neighbours too have electric radiators throughout hence partly why I was considering them.
Say that they don’t use upstairs ones much.
Hope they work out for you.0 -
