Washing machine - can I clean the drainage hose at the siphon without turning off at mains?

Sorry for a daft question but I'm trying to explore all options for a lost ring and wondering about washing machine.

I've already checked the coin trap at the pump you can access at the bottom of the front of the machine. The manual also suggests things can collect where the drainage hose for residual water connects to the kitchen sink plumbing (siphon).

It says you need to disconnect the mains plug first. The plug/socket are completely inaccessible behind the machine though. Just wondering if it's actually dangerous to loosen the hose from the siphon while it's still plugged in (machine will be off obviously).

The machine works fine and I doubt ring is there tbh but if I can check it without massive faff, would like to tick it off if I can.

It's a bosch Exxcel 8 if that makes any difference!

Massively appreciate any advice

The grey waste hose which connects under the sink? If you make sure no waste water reaches the electrics no reason not to disconnect. Is there a fused switch above the worktop? Make sure you refit the pipe properly to avoid leaks.
Also check in the folds of the door seal, in a friends machine I regularly find coins and batteries in there!

Yes, no need to to disconnect if simply opening and cleaning the drain filter.

Thank you - this is really helpful! No switch that I can find but I think the electrics will be safe. Thanks for the tips...at least I now know where all my hair grips go!
