Don’t by B and Q click flooring

A tip to save yourself some money. I bought B and Q click together flooring that was suitable for all rooms (not wet rooms). It was properly and professionally laid in a bath room. After 12 months minimal use (spare bathroom) the click system has failed. The box states 12 year guarantee and B and Q customer service have refused to honour the guarantee after 12 months!! They have used ever trick possible to wriggle out of it. Total waste of money. Simply not good enough. Cheap rubbish. Avoid at all costs.

I assume that B&Q do more than one type of click flooring, so your post might be more useful if you specify which one you had a problem with.

To give some balance to this, what are their reasons for not honouring the guarantee?

Are they stating that you are in someway responsible?

Well, if watter is spilled or leaks in a bathroom it becomes a wetroom.
Do you expect any wood flooring with unsealed joints to last in such conditions?

In flooring terms I'm pretty sure that kitchens and bathrooms come under the "wet room" banner.

I'm not surprised B&Q are not honoring the warranty when you have installed the flooring in a room it is not designed for.

Perhaps you need to do some more research next time you pick some flooring!

I installed this type of flooring in my bathroom and kitchen knowing full well that it is not supposed to be in here. I wouldn't dream of trying to claim my money back if the floor did start to buckle/get damaged.

Does "wet room" mean a room that's wet (which could be a kitchen or bathroom), or does "wet room" mean a shower room that doesn't have a shower tray?
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

In flooring terms a wet room is usually a kitchen or a bathroom, i.e a room that could be wet.

This flooring is not suitable for bathroom / shower room as it's likely to be very humid.

Probably ok in a kitchen as long as any spills moped up straight away..........

Whereas in every use I've heard of the term a "wet room" is a room with a shower and drainage in the floor, with no separate shower tray. So the floor in a wet room is regularly subject to a lot of water, not just occasional spills and splashes.

If B&Q have sold the flooring as "suitable for all rooms except wet rooms", I'd say it's clearly misleading if they then turn round and say it can't be used in a normal bathroom.
