Why?
In effect you are making a cash transfer to a 3rd party card to spend at retailers.
Whats wrong with just using your barclaycard for the purchase?Life in the slow lane0 -
You have no right to be furious. This is an abuse and it's surprising they haven't done anything sooner.
It's likely people are doing this to get around paying for a cash advance and then using the money to transfer to their bank account or make cash withdrawals. Revolut shouldn't allow top ups via a credit card in the first place.0 -
So what would be the solution for people who'd like to use Revolut as it's intended - to avoid currency conversion costs overseas? Tell them they just can't use a credit card? There goes their protection and there goes the fee-free transaction and there goes the perfect exchange rate.
I hope they figure out a way to make it possible to use Revolut with credit cards and without cash transaction fees.0 -
You can use a debit card.0

What protection are you thinking of? Hope it's not S75.
If you take foreign currency on a credit card it is counted as a cash transaction... So all Barclays are doing is levelling the playing field.
No issue using a debit card. Fee free :rotfl:Life in the slow lane0 -
I have now received a refund of the cash advance fee and interest from Barclaycard. Hmmm0
