Barclays PPI

Dad received a response from Barclays following a PPI check saying they had found PPI on an account from 1991-2006. I submitted the complaints form and we received a response saying something along the lines of they only have to keep records for the past 6 years, and from what they could find only £2 of PPI had been paid. They added some other reimbursements and interest onto it and sent a cheque totalling around £20.
I can't believe in the 15 years only £2 of PPI payments were taken?? However we do not hold any statements etc from that long ago do not have any proof otherwise. Do I have any options? Would it be worth requesting a copy of the account details they do hold and whatever they based the calculation on? If I were to complain to the ombudsman would they be able to check as well? Any risk I could lose the £20 already sent if complain to the ombudsman?
Thanks in advance.

There's no point in asking for the account details as Barclays have already used them to calculate the redress. And FOS don't have any records of your account.
If you have no evidence that more was paid, just accept the redress.0 -
As already stated, they have already checked their records and £2 is all they can see, if you have records that more was paid you simply provide it and they will reassess... if you have no evidence of additional payments then that is the end of the matter, requesting documents or FOS involvement is only going to take up more of your time with no reasonable chance at success.0
