Malaseb-Cost 400% mark up at vet!!

I have an old dog who is reacting to food he has often had in the past (chicken). I have changed it now. He has itchy sores on his skin 'hot spots' and his ears and paws are sore too. Took him to vet today and had to pay £63 for 250ml Malaseb - its between £23 and £10.80 online with a prescription! I have not used it yet and wonder if I can take it back the whole bill was £108 for consultation, Malaseb and some antifungal cream. Does anyone else use this? So upset about it.

Try to return it - though to be honest, I'm not sure whether vets (like doctors) will take back medication once it has left their premises. In any case, ask the vet for a prescription for malaseb and then buy it on-line, at a far lesser price than that charged by the vet.
