You'd need to check with the insurers in case changing location every few months means more than one place of work.
    .

I would think of it like someone changing jobs (same trade) Ins co's do not ask for who you work for. As such it is still commuting to a single place of work. So if your company asks you to work for X for a few months, then it is still a single place of work.

No address is ever asked for where your commute is to.

Business cover usually means a single place of work, so she's probably ok going to site X for a few months and then site Y, but she couldn't mix them (X monday-Thursday and Y on a Friday).

Giving passengers a lift should be OK as long as she doesn't profit from it - IIRC petrol money is OK.

Since when? I thought it meant in connection with your business though not usually for hire or reward.

I think he means commuting cover, i.e. home to and from work or station. Business cover comes in various levels, depending what is actually being done.

Is she a named driver? I was not able to use a relative's car for business used when mine was off the road, the insurer allowed named driver commuting but declined to add the necessary cover for business use.
If you want to be sure, you probably need to check with them directly.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Have you worked out why you think commuting is restricted to the policy holder only yet?
  • Many policies give different levels of cover (as standard) for policyholder and named drivers. Never assume the cover is the same for everyone named in the certificate. That said, the wording - for those who bother to read them - is normally quite clear.

I said I wasn't sure. I'm even less sure now thanks to your constructive input.
