Need a replacement sliding door for my van. Any cheaper options than directly from Ford?

Hi all,
my van was broken-into over the weekend and significant damage was done to the passenger-side sliding door of my Ford Transit Custom (2019.)

I've contacted Ford's PartPlus department and they've quoted me £733+VAT for a 'bare door,' and I've got someone who I know, who can fit, align and spray it to match. Can anyone recommend an alternative parts supplier who might be able to sell me a new door for less than the price quoted?

Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

    Won't insurance cover it...?

Looking on the 'bay, looks like the part changed in 2017/8 - minor facelift? So there's not going to be many available, but probably quite high demand.

I had a look on eBay, but found that it was a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack and I wasn't 100% sure what I was looking for. if I had a specific part number I'd be much more confident of ordering the right door, but I haven't found this yet as there are so many variations of the Food Transit Range.
When I called PartsPlus, I simply gave them my Reg number and they were able to give me a quote over the phone.

I'd rather pay for this myself as it's the first year starting my new company and I don't want the premium to shoot-up immediately

I tried calling around a few, but no one was particularly helpful. I tried a few 'part search' websites but nothing's come through yet, so I suspect I might have to go for a new one. Obviously if I can get a new one cheaper than the one from Ford, that would be ideal.

Thanks for your responses so far

The problem is, if you find a new one much cheaper, it's likely to be a pattern part and it probably won't fit too well.

There are some Transit parts specialist around, as it's a big expensive part they probably won't have one on the shelf, but they might supply one a bit cheaper than the dealer.

Google and a phone around is needed.

Thanks for that. I called cabmaster just now but they don't have anything suitable, unfortunately.

I've tried to google, but most of the parts suppliers that come up don't carry any type of door so I haven't bothered calling any of them. perhaps I'll do that.
If you have any other suggestions, that would be great, but thank for your help either way.

Unless your current premium is horrendous, I’d be amazed if any increase came anywhere near the ccost of your potential claim. Do some dummy quotes on Meerkat etc. to check.

Sadly its not just the hassle & expense of door repair/replacement but you will now need to invest in aftermarket mechanical locks and fit them. Lots of hits on google. My employer has over 300 vehicles mostly Ford and all are fit with aftermarket devices i.e. trackers & deadbolts for rear & side doors. Even with the trackers fitted a couple have "vanished", suspected that one of the installers was a rogue.

Where I live Transits appear to be getting "peeled" every other day and its being going on for over 6 years now. Ford don't appear to care too much as they sell mostly to fleet customers via leasing companies.

Hoping that your business survives all this and when you are sourcing the next vehicle a little research on vehicle security will help.

Looks like that's what's caused the door to be destroyed...
