Mis sold or normal procedure

Hi need some advice please. I booked a French Christmas markets and Seine River Cruise departing on the 15th December last stopping at Rouen and Honfleur. When we arrived at Rouen at 16.20 hours the disembarkation was a shambles to the extent that we were still waiting to leave the vessel at 18.15 hours. Shuttle buses were available to and from the town up to 30 minutes drive away and given the fact that the last shuttle back was at 20.00 hours we felt that there wouldn't be enough time for us to visit the market comfortably, so we abandoned the idea. The following day at Honfleur we arrived in the town at 09.20 hours to find shops didn't open until 10.30, but what was worse was that the Christmas market was not scheduled to open until the following day 18th December (the same day we arrived back in UK). So , we didn't see any Christmas markets and therefore I feel that the trip was mis named and mis sold to me. The operator has merely apologised and offered a 10% discount on our next holiday with them, obviously presupposing that we will book with them in the future. I feel that we should expect a partial refund on our trip and not a paltry 10% discount on our next trip. Does anyone agree with me or is this par for the course. Also if you agree advice on which avenue I should pursue would be appreciated.
