I used to like going abroad before everything was globalised so much and places began to lose their unique identities. For me it was always about seeing the historical and natural history aspects of a country, rather than lying around sweating on a beach surrounded by boozing British holidaymakers. 'Spa breaks', 'Disneylands' and the like are definitely not for me. Also don't like crowds, or airports. Think tourism has ruined some places, and I'm also concerned about how much flying about all over the place is ruining the environment. It has been blissful – both in terms of air quality and noise – here with fewer planes around.

I actually like going to places in Britain – there are so many absolutely beautiful and unique spots. New Zealand is a country I'd like to go to, and Australia (been there, but would like to go again).
