Welcome to the world of surveyors, they haven't got a clue most of the time so just recommend you get someone in that does, I wouldn't worry about itI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

I agree, and that's how we are taking our own buildings survey on our purchase.
Our buyers however are understandably nervous about anything official that says "danger", and they would like everything fixed up before moving in.
For the moment we are asking the estate agent to push this back onto the buyers, and reassure them that surveyors always recommend specialist surveys, and in itself that's nothing to worry about.0 -
A quick followup - we had an electrician visit (for some other work) and he confirmed the building regulations state 150mm between Gas and Electricity meters, and a fireproof barrier if it has to be less than that.
Hopefully this will allow us to tick one problem off the buyer's list.0 -

Hopefully this will allow us to tick one problem off the buyer's list.
If you can get a copy of the relevant building regs and send them to the surveyor and the estate agents you can hopefully get things sorted quickly.0
