Charity shops are great for book bargains. My local charity shops sell paperbacks for £1 a time. It saves on all those horrid postage charges.0

I'd reccomend adebooks, ebay and amazon for choice or use this excellent site http://used.addall.com/ for searching out something that you paticuarly want.
If its just general stuff try car boots and jumbles - tip stock up at jumbles by taking a big armful of books and saying "couple of quid for this lot do ya love!!"Wycombe Till I Die0 -

Books start from £3.75, £3 to the seller, 70p to the site owner, 5p to charity. I've found some bargains on there, but the choice is limited and the site is slow and not easy to search.
Had never heard of this site before but they seem to have some good books in there.

Why do companies offer you "free gifts?"
Since when has a gift NOT been free?0 -
If you can get into a town which has a market, there are generally lots of second-hand book dealers. They all sell for knock-down prices and you can return the books you've finished and save money when buying again. Car-boot sales also generally have lots of books for resale.
Good luck0 -

Alternatively, your local library lets you read and return books for free
And they have a massive selection. They'll order in what they can if you ask them. "One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
