Thanks Dumpling. It sounds something DH would love.

Bright sunshine, although we have had a heavy frost, everywhere is white.
No plans for the day which is good. I would not be happy driving after the frost.
Not much to report, we bummble on from day to day, will be glad when it gets a bit warmer and we can start on the garden.
Supper tonight is baked cod with mash and veggies. Possibly cheese cake for dessert.0 -
Good morning everyone,
A later check-in from me as I've just returned from A&E with a fractured ankle. I hurt it at football on Sunday and powered through until I got home last night, when I noticed my ankle was twice in size and my foot was blue. But, as it's only a hairline fracture, I've just to dope up on pills and keep it moving, so the next couple of weeks will be uncomfortable.
Maybe I'm getting too old for all this sport stuff.
So I done very little last night as I sat with the foot up and on ice. I recon tonight will be the same although I am due to attend The Reserves. It's just a classroom style evening, so I still could attend. I'll see how I get on.
dumpling - you sound positive, motivated and inspired and it's great to hear. Long may it continue and hope the meeting goes well today.0 -
Morning all! I have nothing planned for today, apart from getting out to the garden to pick up all the cat poo before it thaws out there. Where the tree at the bottom of the garden drops itty bitty bits of leaves it composts and the local cats all use it. There's a mountain of poo there now...TMI? Sorry!
Fire is alive and warming nicely [ so cold out there! It's -1 at the moment, so not horrendously cold, but I think I've become a bit of baby...]
Also have to see if anyone would actually like some wood ash on freecycle or a gardening club because there's only so much I can throw in the raised bed or the composter. Luckily the cat is keeping up with chewing cardboard into smaller pieces so that goes well in the compost...I have some pork chops to use tonight, so I might do a risotto to go with it, probably mushroom, ad then it's tofu toorrow night [ no recipe ideas yet except some vague kind of korean inspired hot soupy stew...The sausages are in the freezer so I can get them out for Thursday...Forgot to say, change of plan, going to Wales next week now, so no rush to do anything this week except in possibe preparation....
dumpling, sounds lovely, I think I will also steal the recipe. Yeah, feeling like something that has no basis in reality is really annoying isn't it? If only feelings were like CD songs you could pick and choose which ones you wanted to play and reject any you didn'ttru, have a nice lazy dat...Scarlet, hope you don't fall!TA, enjoy your day out! Gers, hope you get to walk later on. Nanny, forget the shovel, let's just go with the goodies
ruby, glad it's on their radar now, although I'm not sure how you're supposed to be careful....Speky, that sounds painful and I don't think it's getting old, just maybe overdoing it on the excercise front
rest up! Hey all reading along, Time to get up and go Tuesday!

Why can't we recycle the flimsy plastic wrappings from wrapping paper, etc? There must be somewhere that takes it, I'll look into that later.
Tru, I know it’s a little way away from you but M&S at Cribbs takes all the black etc plastic. We take ours there every six weeks or so and our black bin now has less than one bin bag every 2 weeks.
Not sure why my quote didn’t work correctly. Hope Tru sees this...0 -
SPEKY -:eek: Foot up etc!
Cleaner has been and gone. She's announced that she's got a full time job starting next week so today was her final one with us. As she was due to finish here next week anyway it's not bad timing. She needs a regular income and agency work wasn't bringing in enough, she's gone back to care home work.
The washing load is now hanging up, DM fed and watered and my mojo to go out has gone out! It's wet and chilly outside so I'll save myself for tomorrow, I much prefer to go out in the morning as, by afternoon I really just want to rest.
So, I'm finishing off a book, there's another one waiting in the wings, and my eyes may just need to close for a short while.:o0 -
Afternoon all. It's the fourth sunny day in a row woo hoo! We went to Cribbs and had a walk around the shops. I bought some soup bags in Lakeland. We had a coffee and did some people watching.
Home again and DH remade the bed that I stripped this morning. Not much else going on. I am knitting and DH is resting his eyes.
Speky hope you heal quickly. TA hope lunch was tasty. Tru hope the cold is getting better.
Well have a good evening folks.
