Hi i dont know if i am posting on the right board here but i'll have a go.
I bought a pair of track suit bottoms from a sports shop & took them back a few days later for a refund.I was told "company policy" was to issue a credit note & not to credit my debit card.
Can they do this by law,as i dont want to spend any more money in this shop & wanted a refund.I now have no goods & a credit note,i feel as though they have held me to ransome alittle bit.
Cheers for any info on this matter

If there was nothing wrong with them you have no right for a refund. Legally the shop doesn't even have to take them back. SO be happy with your credit note.
If they were faulty, then you would be able to get a refund assuming it was only a few days. Some dishonest people will actually make something faulty before they take it back to ensure they do get a refund.0 -
Agree with Wig, I'm afraid.
As this has happened to me in the past, I now make a point of asking at time of buying what would happen if I wanted a refund. If I don't like the answer, I either don't buy the item, or I make absolutely sure I do want it.
Think you'll need to file this under 'experience'.Herman - MP for all!
