  • I suppose it's the principle that if you negotiate a contract and price with someone for a fixed term then you feel that you have signed up for that price for the duration of the contract. However, I've known about this clause for a long time and on that basis I either accept it when I sign up or I don't sign up. 
    Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.
  • Do you have Sky broadband as part of the contract?
    Is it all on the same bill / direct debit?
    You may be able to cancel as Ofcom have ruled on mid term contract increases as detrimental
