Why are you paying for carpet for a home you don't own?

Maybe the property is let unfurnished?

Ask the store to hold onto it and fit it when you have moved to your new place.

i do agree with what you say,too many people do not seem to understand the basic rights on buying instore/online {even though it is explained on this forum on a daily basis}but my point to {Spanks'post-Why would they tell you if it's printed on the back of the invoice?} is that you would hand over the money before getting the invoice, so unless I am missing/miss reading it my question still stands:)

In which case the OP has got a nice little bonus.
Handing the money over for the carpet OP had zero change of mind options.
Received invoice and found they have have been gifted with a 70% back change of mind returns policy.
  • Well I called them and explained the situation, expecting them to take 30% off and they have gave me a full refund.
The invoice and receipt was given to me after I had paid so I wasn't aware of the terms etc.

For those that were wondering, carpets were filthy from previous tenants so landlord has said I can replace them as he doesn't want to spend any money.

    Thanks to all who answered.

Thats a great result, but just to pick you up on one thing. You had zero rights to a refund as it was an instore purchase. The fact you wasn't aware that you would get 70% back till after you paid was actually a bonus.
