I won £5000 on my local Bauer radio station about 3 years ago, just 3 weeks after my sister won £5000! Then October 2018 I won £4000 on the same station! Its a little harder now with the Bauer Hits Radio as it covers more stations so the number of entries are higher, but if you don't enter you've no chance! Keeping my fingers crossed for a cash register win soon! :j

I won £2000 on Cool FM about 3 years ago. Entered online using the free method, which most people here in NI don't seeme to know about...
Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

I won £2000 with Rock FM a few years ago. I think it was one where you were allowed 10 entries, and I did all the entries online just before the closing time of 6pm. They called me a few minutes after six and at first I thought it was a wind up! I got the call on a Tuesday evening, and on the Thursday morning they sent someone from the studio round to my house with £2k in £20 notes!!

Won £2,016 in a Magic competition on the last day of 2015. Got a phone call to confirm my bank details within an hour of the winning phone call and the money was in my account a few days after the new year began.

One of my work colleagues where I work on another site and who enters competitions won one of the big prizes in the recent Cash Register competition. And this good fortune did not go un-noticed with management. Who, while thrilled that their employee came into winning some money, were not thrilled about the use of a phone during work time. Needless to say, they are now aware of a) competitions as a hobby affecting work time and b) enforcing their mobile phone policy.

I won £2000 with Radio City Feb 2018. Didn't need to remember an amount or an artist or anything, it was just their weekly 2K giveaway. Only put 10 entries out of the possible 30 in using the free online entry, did around midnight on the thursday and got a call at about 9:10am the friday morning. Went and picked up the winnings in cash a few hours later :)

    "Team UK

They enter occasionally, or maybe frequently
They think nothing of spending £2-00 per entry.
If they get THE CALL they probably don’t answer.
High in numbers, low in intelligence
But they do outnumber Team MSE considerably"

What a smug post. Calling thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people unintelligent because they don't enter via MSE or for free? Also assuming they don't answer their phone? Where is your evidence for any of this? You have no idea how many times people enter or if they answer their phone. You have have just made a sweeping statement about many thousands of people. This forum never fails to shock me with it's love for itself. If it wasn't for people paying to enter then there would be no radio comps at all I suspect.

Your post, to me, has simply come across as arrogant and smug with little evidence to back any of your claims and it appears to simply be a way to pat yourself on the back and say how clever you are. I see no evidence of that in your post. Not nice is it to be put down, so lets not do it to a large amount of people you don't even know. Absolutely ridiculous mean spirited post full of 'i love myself'. Not a thread I'll be coming back to because i see no sign of intelligence in the OP and absolutely no need for the post at all.
    August-September 2017: Lots of stuff :)

Does seem a little bit silly to disparage the very people who basically pay for the competitions, if their numbers shrunk the competitions would possibly either stop or more likely switch to a format (as per ITV) that doesn't have free web entry.

(or Bauer Media could simply inform MSE they don't want details of any of their competitions posted on the forum and that would probably wipe out most of the worthwhile competitions on here)

There is the odd competition already running on the radio without a free entry route - SMS only entry. Could be easy to do if Bauer and Global (who run that odd competition) wanted to switch all of them to that format. Worse still, after the NHS England Mental Health Chief's intervention into gambling and how they entice people into gambling, any forthcoming review into gambling "perks" will surely include the likes of Super6, ITV7, Footie5 et al which are the other forms of competition which offer big prizes with a view from Government to end them all. And with other competitions transitioning to low value, highly viewed and shared social media competitions, could easily kill off the hobby.

And to add to this, we are in a time where people take one person in a group being taken as representative of every person in a group on social media. We live in a time of offence and cancel culture. All that needs to happen is someone to take offence and say something on social media about the attitude of compers to the wider general public, for that to go viral and then all of a sudden, compers are denigrated as entitled, spoilt and workshy individuals who don't work hard and long hours to make money as opposed to the "low in intelligence" masses, hit-pieces are written by media outlets, MSE is placed under pressure to close the board, other websites distance themselves from compers and companies end competitions as a form of promotion and marketing.
