That's exactly how I'd feel honey.

Try shopping online with the stores at Quidco. I am not a Quidco expert, but if you go through there to Hawkins Bazaar they are pretty reliable. So is HMV (though they have their moments  ) and even Woolworths. You probably don't want to know that M&S are on Quidco.
I have got all my stuff online and Christmas is just about sorted for me. Apart from the wrapping of course which I find so stressful that DH leaves the house
Save the Children and The Owl Barn are charities that also sell gifts online and The Owl Barn was really good for me.
HTHAlways another chapter0 -
There are hundreds of shops you could go to online instead of M+S or going to the shops in the real world (aarrgghh, the real world!!!!)
. Try John Lewis, HMV, Lush, Boots, Wilkinsons, Next.........
I've done my Christmas shopping 100% online for the last 4 years now. The thought of going to shops with everyone elbowing each other leaves me cold.
I would get a cuppa, a packet of biscuits, pull out the list and think laterally about other shops which would stock similar items. You've got loads of time still.
As hav says - make sure you go through Quidco for as much as you can.
I had the same problem with M+S back in the Spring and got a £10 voucher."Stay Wonky":D

I do want to shop on line and I've had a particularly great experience with Boots this year and Game & Amazon. It's just the way that I was treated. I spent a long doing this order and then it's oh - here's £15 off your NEXT online order - Talk about taking the (St) Michael:mad:. I don't think they would have ever bothered to tell me either if I hadn't asked.
Anyway, what I really wanted were a couple off those MR T bubble baths - does anyone know the ones? Oh yes and the cuff links shaped like maps of the British Isles:o.....0 -
I still go to shops - and I am on crutches and so fair game to be bumped / jostled/ shoved/ ignored.
BUT I go with a list, cash and at quiet times, so I can get in and out fast.
I do have friends who are crazy shopaholics - they LIKE a busy shop, and claim the atmosphere is 'christmassy'!?! If you know somebody like that, maybe they could get what you need.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi Luxor,
I don't mind the shops that much - it's just that all that temptation makes me spend money:eek:. I'm off out now but I have a horrible feeling I will find myself in M&S - though I have a few alternative stores in mind for what I want:money:0 -
IF it makes you feel any better, I spent hours researching and looking for an external harddrive for a christmas. I ordered it from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and it was in stock. I checked last night to see where my order was up to and now its out of stock and wont be delivered until between 27th Dec - 10th Jan
Thats peed me off cos it was in stock when i had ordered it.
Will have to see if i can get it elsewhere- if not my brother will have to wait :rolleyes:March 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009

Hi Sammi,
That's really annoying:o I must admit I love Amazon but if I order anything in December I watch it carefully to see if they look like the're not going to make it - the good thing with Amazon is you can always canx the order right up to getting ready for dispatch.
Anyway, I've just got back from M&S. Oddly, I found nearly everything I wanted in store except the British Isle Cufflinks - Got 2 MR T bubblebaths and all the clothes I wanted for my nieces. It was easier to do cos I'd already picked it out on line. In fact I SAVED £5 on my sons PJs and got better ones. AND guess what? - when I got home I realised the cashier hadn't charged for an item worth £13! Do you think that's justice or theft:o......0 -
"Just to let you know we try to make sure we only show items that are available to buy online. Occasionally, when a product is popular or during SALE periods ans special offers, it's possible for a number of customers to order the last item at the same time. We're working on our availablilty systems....blah, blah, blah" M&S Customer Services
An extract from an e mail from M&S. So on 19th November 16 of the 17 items I ordered (trust me they weren't difficult to buy things - I went and bought them in store yesterday) were UNAVAILALE yet showed themselves as available. DO M&S on line actually have any stock?
You may wonder why I care as I obviously don't hate M&S. But I spent at least an hour and a half of my life choosing and buying things THAT DIDN'T EXIST. AND THEN I WAITED for them for 10 days. That's just mad.0
