Noble City Living Sheffield (Design And Build)

I have been thinking about renting a new flat from them,

Has anybody used them before?

  • Soon as they had our money they ignored us. They have left tons of snagging, when we tried to resolve they told us to get a solicitor! Another buyer who is quite elderly was told the same and then the following day they would be getting a restraining order on her! 60 year old, didnt understand what she had done. We've been intimidated and had several sarcastic emails from staff especially the owner. He is atrocious! I do not recommend buying from them. They are absolutely horrendous and the owner is more than happy to let you suffer once you've paid. Left us with rubble and uneven garden when told it would be level, doors are warped and not secure. The forgot to put the alarm sensors in!!! I will ensure no one I know purchased from this disgraceful company.
  • Avoid at all costs, I wish we had seen the hidden google reviews before we purchased the flat!!!

Maybe you should have read them more carefully than you appeared to read GM's sticky on tenancies in England & Wales.

You were here writing the above at 06.59, yet by 07.00 you'd declared GM's fine contribution (10 long posts) as "fabulous."

Oh, hang on, I get it now, you were reading both pages concurrently. Sorry! :o
  • Yes that is exactly what I was doing, looking up on the forum

Welcome to the MSE. The fact that you've returned to challenge my comment is a definite point in your favour.

You were commenting on this thread, but you also added two other throwaway comments on other threads in rapid succession, which from a new member looks like post building, especially as you didn't appear to have have time to evaluate GM's mighty post before declaring it fabulous. You're right; it is, but it's a long read.

Now, consider the fact that you and devoncol signed-up within 15 minutes of each other to write negative comments about the same company, both used bold type (unusual here) and also used three exclamation marks at the end of a sentence. (again, not common.)These might all be coincidences, but it does look suspicious.

Sometimes, people set up multiple accounts to pursue a personal agenda, which itself might be valid, but in doing that they devalue their own case, and with it, this site. I'm not accusing you of doing that, just pointing out that some longer term members are on the lookout for this. The fact that the OP found it necessary to start two threads on the same subject was also a red flag. It was overkill.

Finally, instead of being very brief and vague here, you could have been specific in your complaint. Similarly, devoncol could have quoted from one of the emails he/she is so irate about. Details convince people a true story is being told. I remain unconvinced at this point.

Also, what is a Google 'hidden review?' Am I supposed to know? I read lots of Google reviews but I'm not aware of where the hidden ones are kept.
