Oh lala! Impressed with the new forum! Weird to see after this many years!
Yesterday was a spendier day as I had a haircut (£14) and treated myself to a box of barfi for my birthday (£13.50).
Today is the first day of our mini break to Dover so we've had a pricey sushi lunch (around £30) and bubble tea (approx £4).
Have a good Friday and weekend everyone!0 -
Back home after a lovely, if very blustery trip! Weather was atrocious yesterday but we did have fun watching the front from our hotel window, including the coast guard moving people along and the local news crew filming right below us!
Now we're back I've properly calculated what we spent and I'm surprised it works out as £33.50 per adult per day. We had lots of nice food, including one stand out meal at The Allotment, so that seems like a bargain. We had a little in the joint account which we could safely use for the trip and I give myself a budget of £70 a week mad money so I also used that to fund our getaway, meaning I only took £117.52 out of the holiday fund in the end.
Still need to save some more cash for our March hol and Copenhagen in June, plus now we've "accidentally" booked another Kent hol in August and may go away with mates to a cottage in October. Sure I'll cook the books somehow 😬.

Had a nice lunch with DW and baby boy visiting me at work. We used some gift vouchers I got for my birthday to pay for lunch so a NSD.
In less fortunate news, I sat on my glasses (they're clear...) and I think I may have bent one of the arms. I've tried to bend it back and it seems okay now but I'm worried they're now giving me headaches because they're subtly wonky. I'll see how I go on over the next day or so and replace them if I keep getting headaches. Fingers crossed they're alright!

Another cheap day: had a free birthday crepe (delicious!), doughnut and hot chocolate. Also used a birthday £5 off voucher to buy a valentines and birthday card I needed anyway, meaning my total spend was £1.5. The rest of today's work food budget therefore going in the savings pot.

Pricier day as it's B&C insurance renewal time. Got a good deal (£225.96), which is lower than last year's policy. DW and I will split that and the cost of the TV licence renewal when it's due. Otherwise(!) a NSD.

Cheap day again: lunch from a certain high street baker, using my free welcome drink and birthday doughnut vouchers (£1.50). Free bubble tea using loyalty voucher. Rest of my work lunch budget in savings.

An up and down day! Poor DS has come down with chicken pox so we're confined to the house (luckily DW and I have had it). He's in decent spirits considering and will hopefully be on the mend soon. Treated ourselves to a takeaway since we're not going anywhere (£29), not that the weather warrants it anyway!
On the positive side, an unexpected windfall as SLC told me I overpaid my student loan when I paid it off so I'll be getting £100 back, which I'll put towards the B&C insurance.0 -
Looking like a NSD for storm and pox related reasons so the rest of my weekend budget is earmarked to go on extra savings and holiday fund.

Annoyingly my preloaded loyalty card isn't working so had to spend cash on a drink while I wait for them to figure out why (£1.95). Bought katsu curry for lunch with a birthday gift card and toiletries using Advantage card points so otherwise a spend free day.

Come down with a grotty bug overnight so working from home today, i.e. a NSD. Yesterday I bought sushi with a money off voucher for lunch (£3.29), two microwaveable work lunches and some fruit for DS and smoothie making (my dad gave me his old Nutribullet a while ago) (£3.95). Rest of my work lunch budget for the week goes into savings.
