Incorrect File

Hi,
Yesterday I obtained my equifax credit file as I am applying for a mortgage in a few weeks, already have a decision in principle approved with a soft credit check done.
On there, Thames Water ad reported 3 late payments for an account I had closed in March 19. Then from October until now, all payment are green and 'Up to date'.
I called Thames Water who have said there was some kind of system issue, a few £'s were left open on my account despite them telling me there was nothing and for weeks after I had shut my account I was logging in online to make sure there was no balance, which there was not.
Thames Water say they are going to correct my file within 10 days as they accept it was not my fault and it seems like they are having a lot of system issues.
My question is, how will this look on my credit file and can I just keep requesting a new report every day and one day it will just show as been changed? Obviously I am desperate to get this changed for our mortgage application. I also report it to Equifax who say they have contacted TW themselves and TW have 21 days to respond, but by the sounds of it, it should be done before that passes.
Finally, I wanted to know... can they even report to a credit reference agency without setting up a credit agreement? I agreed to a direct debit of course but I didn't think 'non-credit' agreements would be reported to Equifax, especially without me being told...
Thanks
Jack

If they remove the late payments, then they won't be visible. If you want to view your file each day, you'll need to get a paid subscription.
Late payments can be reported to the CRAs. You would have been told this in the terms you agreed to, so check there first.0
