    Morning folks.

More lovely comments, many thanks. Despite the many many huge frustrations and bad times me looking after DM is the best option for her. It is what it will be!

Today is a new day. I'm going out for a few things. Taking back the trousers to Marks. Collecting my 'comfort shopping' order from Waitrose (better than comfort eating). Collecting scripts from GP and getting them filled. And, more importantly, my walk round swan lake!

Love the idea of Sparkle Friday, I shall adopt it.

The memories of loved ones never goes. ILC, cherish them. I was talking to my cousin yesterday about his father who died on 17 Jan 2004.

Right, off to feed DM and then make tracks before any rain starts.

I hope everyone has a peaceful, sparkly and happy Friday.
  • Good morning all x
    TA have fun with sparkle.
Well still groggy from the painkillers but ho hum.
Last night was a nightmare. Sat watching TV with DH and there was a pop and all sockets went off. After much running around it turned out the plug to the freezer in the garage had somehow got wet and shorted the whole circuit. DH was not happy as the chest freezer is full and he was panicking that we would lose the lot. New plug and fuse later all was OK so crisis averted.
Made pizza last night with the dough setting on the bm and it was yummy.
Wm is on and windows are wiped down from the condensation.
Need to sort the lounge out as pulling everything out last night to turn off plugs was hard work.
Dd was meant to have a study day home from work so she could catch up on her accounting course but a problem at work has called her in. She is not happy as it means she will have to do double this weekend.
    Anyhoo best get on.
Hugs to all in need x
    Bright Blessings xx
  • Goodness a bright morning and very little wind. A coloured load in the washer, will be doing a mixed load on Monday to try and get back into the normal routine.

Well done Gers, you have a lot more patience than I had.........my mother ended up in a home after alienating the whole family. The staff had a bad time with her as well.

Well I am sick of reading about H & M in the papers. I can see where it is heading........what the papers do not know they make up.

I was wondering TA if you could just shorten the cats name to Sparky? I hope you have many happy hours together.

Usual fish and chips tonight, possibly banana and ice cream for dessert.
  • Sparkle Friday I like that! Much more exciting than Friday Tidy. (CSARINA no we have all got used to referring to her as Sparkle so Sparkle she will stay!)

Just having a break from cleaning and had a read back. I so agree the memory of loved ones never fades. It's 40 years since I lost my beloved dad when he was 67 and 16 months since I lost my darling Bob when he was 69, both far too young to go. They were the two most loved men in my life and I can re-live the days they were taken from us as though it was yesterday.

Oh well better get back to my cleaning. Take care all xx

    Morning all,

Trip to doctors to collect a prescription , then to replace back number light bulbs, then to NCT for visual inspection, then home to cook ham, cabbage, turnip and potatoes.....need to get potatoes.

Sunny here today, not as cold as last few days, need to get a few things sorted as DS2 and GF are coming this evening for weekend, haven't seen them since before Christmas so looking forward to that, they are both runners so go to bed early to be up at dawn to do 10, 15 or maybe 20 miles!

    TA.....happy Sparkle day.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,
Dank and drizzly here , never mind we've had one sunny day this week :D My hairdresser has just been, I rang him yesterday and he'd just had a cancellation for his 1st appt. morning which suited me fine - I've had quite a lot chopped off,it was 1 length to my shoulder, so I've had some layers put in.I just fancied a change.
TA - seems like we're all getting excited for Sparkle Friday - I hope she settles in well :)
I want to drop my Aussie animal bed etc .makes off at the drop off point if I can today, get them off the dining table.
Need a bit of a tidy too as we have our friends coming over tomorrow evening, won't go mad tho' as DGC will be here later.
Gers I'm glad you seem a bit brighter today, you are doing a great job :T
Sparkly Friday to all :D x

    Morning all
It's episode 2 of Emergency Ward 10 here :D. DGS has returned and he seems a little better today, still coughing but boy has his appetite has returned . He's already had a sausage and bacon grill sandwich and 2 chocolate croissants for breakfast and he's ordered corned beef toasties for lunch. Anyone want a loan of a human hoover 'cos he's for hire :rotfl:.
I've put a load in the WM and other than that it will be be another pottering day ahead. I have some beef stew left so I will blitz it up into soup and freeze it. No waste here :T ......... I tried giving it to the DGS but he pulled a face when I suggested it _pale_. He'd probably eat half a loaf with it anyway :D

TA happy Sparkle day from me too. I'm expecting a few reports on her antics :D I hope you have a long and happy life together.
Gers I hope you have a better day today. I'm sending you many hugs. As I've said before I couldn't do half of what you do for your DM with my Dad. I take my hat off to you big time. :A
LoneWW I hope you managed to save the freezer food.Right enough waffling from me, it's coffee time!
    Take care all

    Hi everyone
Well little granddaughter and her mummy are still in hospital....it looks like they could be there for a while yet. They have had to put her tube back into her bowel to feed her as she wasn't getting enough nourishment. So they'll feed her both through that tube and a little through the tube going into her stomach over the weekend - to see if she'll tolerate just a little going into her stomach...
I must admit I'm finding it quite confusing but the doctors no doubt know what they're doing.
So I'm off to Newcastle on the train tomorrow - I'm hoping DD will leave baby with me and go out for a wander to the shops, just to get out of the hospital a bit.
