Amazon Mastercard_My experience

Options
I have applied for the Amazon Mastercard back in August and as I use Amazon regularly, it seemed like a good deal to get some rewards from being a regular customer. In addition, they were offering a £15 credit after making the first purchase within 30 days of the card activation.
Have made the first months' purchase, no £15 credit. Waited for another month, used the card and paid it off, still no £15 credit. Phoned Amazon Mastercard, they've put me in touch with Amazon, who have re-assured me that I will receive a £15 gift certificate by E-mail within 2 weeks of our conversation. Nothing happened and today I have cancelled the credit card as I shouldn't have had to chased them , with no result, 3 months after making the first purchase.
The £15 credit offer is still available on the Amazon.co.uk Web site, but please be aware that they might not be offering it to you at all.

I got mine within two weeks.

Just bad luck for you really.
  • I never got mine either. The card is not really worth it - I only kept it as an everyday use card as I pay it all off, but don't get it just for the reward as it's not that reliable.
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.
  • I got mine ok and since first taking it out I have been given a further 2 x £15 gift certificates as a "loyalty point" thingy. I wasn't aware when I took it out that there was any form of loyalty bonus but I'm quite happy to receive the gift certificates!
  • I applied for mine while making a purchase from Amazon in July and the £15 was deducted straight away on the checkout screen from that order, on condition that I would use the card within 30 days of receiving it. No problems at all.
  • I also have this card and granted, I waited a fair while for my vouchers. When I did call a helpful lady said it could take 6 - 8 weeks and to be sure to check spam in case it got caught wrongly.

My voucher did arrive in the specified timeframe. It was not caught as spam, but I checked regularly.

I had lots of problems setting up my DD to pay the card, but that is another story.

I got my voucher quickly, but that was 8 months ago. There are various probs with the amazon card though. Their website often doesn't work or not v well. I've just had a fake Halifax (they are part of Halifax group) phishing email that I had to report to them (I'm not alone they said) and I don't know how the phisherman caught my details. They've also just turned down my app for a slightly increased credit limit on the grounds that I don't have an impeccable payment history (I do). It's got decent 0% interest on purchases and their customer service people are at least pleasant to deal with. I would chase Amazon if I were you as they are generally quite amenable.
